Account & Data Deletion

Last updated: September 17, 2026

This page explains how to request deletion of your GigBoard account and data, and exactly what happens to your information when you do. It applies whether or not you currently have the GigBoard app installed or can sign in.

How to request deletion

In the app

  1. Open GigBoard and sign in
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm
  4. Re-enter your password (or confirm with Google, if that's how you signed in)

Your account and data are deleted immediately — no waiting period, no support ticket required.

Can't sign in, or don't have the app

Email support@gigboard.live from the address associated with your account and request that your account be deleted.

We'll respond within 45 days. We may need to verify you're the account holder before completing the request.

What gets deleted vs. retained

Deleting your account permanently removes most of your data immediately. A few things are kept — always for the same reason: removing them would also delete data that belongs to someone else who is still using GigBoard.

Deleted immediately and permanently

  • Your profile — name, bio, contact info, instruments, and settings
  • Your profile picture and banner image
  • Uploaded media — photos, videos, and repertoire/songs
  • Auditions you submitted
  • Your connections and any pending connection requests
  • Notifications
  • Saved gigs
  • Blocks you placed, or that were placed on you
  • Files and photos you uploaded to any gig, including gigs other people posted

Retained — and why

  • Gigs you posted — not deleted; marked as cancelled. The listing stays so the musicians who applied or were part of it keep a record of it.
  • Messages in conversations you were part of — you're removed from the conversation and it's archived, but messages you sent remain visible to the other participant(s). There's no scheduled purge date for this content.
  • Reviews you gave or received — the review itself (rating and text) is kept indefinitely so the other party's record isn't affected, but your identity on it is replaced with an anonymized label.
  • Reports — reports you filed, and reports filed about you or your gigs, are retained for safety and abuse prevention.

We don't maintain a separate long-term backup archive of deleted data beyond what's listed above.

Deleting individual data without deleting your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove specific things. You can already remove these yourself, any time, from within the app:

  • Songs and repertoire entries
  • Saved gigs
  • Individual connections
  • Your banner image
  • Files or photos you uploaded to a specific gig

For anything else — photos or videos in your media library, a review you gave or received, or an individual message — email support@gigboard.live and we'll handle the request manually.
